Growing Auerbach fleet

Takeover of MS "BBC Tennessee" and
MS "BBC Alberta"

Dear Friends and Business Partners,

After our technical management department took over “BBC Tennessee” as a sister to our ships “Maple Lotta” and “Maple Lea” in the fourth quarter of 2016, we can now, at the start of 2017, announce new additions to our fleet as part of our strategic alliance with Briese. On 3 February, the “BBC Alberta” was added to the fleet of F-type vessels maintained by Auerbach’s technical staff. Built in the Jiangzhou shipyard, in China, both ships have been given the highest ice class rating and feature two loading cranes, each with a lifting capacity of 180 tonnes. With a total length of 138.07 metres and a capacity of 12,791 DWT, these two ships bring the number of vessels in our fleet up to eight.
While the “BBC Tennessee” is currently on her way from Albany (New York) to Kristiansand, the “BBC Alberta” will be busy in the Persian Golf for a while to come.

We take pleasure in the continuous growth of our fleet and are excited about the forthcoming challenges.

Sincerely,

The management team is complete

New executive on board

Arne Seesemann is the new finance and business development executive at Auerbach. The manager holding a degree in finance was appointed to this position on 1 February. Arne Seesemann will work closely with Rafal Mirski, the technical executive, and founder Lucius Bunk, who is also a member of management at the Briese shipping company in Leer, to put the company’s management team together.

After spending some time in the Australian Outback with training in banking and bank administration under his belt, Arne Seesemann made his return to northern Germany. He received his degree in finance at Leuphana University in the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg. A loyal northerner, he then attended a trainee programme for corporate & investment banking at a major German bank in Hamburg.

He first came into contact with the maritime industry when working in wholesale banking. This became a passion, so he went back to university to prepare himself for his future in ship financing. On a professional level, too, Arne Seesemann became increasingly focussed on project development and restructuring in the area of maritime structuring and financing. Confronted with the effects of the crisis, he was able to contribute his comprehensive expertise in the management of an established shipping company.

We are happy to have Arne, as competent and dedicated colleague with us on board and are looking forward to working with him in the coming years.

Meet the entire Auerbach team here!

Class renewal in China

MS "Maple Lotta" shines anew
In light of her 10th birthday, our “Maple Lotta” left the seven seas for about two weeks at the end of February for a scheduled class renewal at the dry dock in Qingdao (China).
She was put back out to see with a brand new shine. As is clear from the picture, the hull was recoated and repainted and the rust has been carefully removed. The loading crane cables were also replaced and the hatchcover refurbished.
Thanks to our technical inspector Peggy Nolte and our HSSEQ manager Marvin Hollje, who at times worked in frosty temperatures, the job could be completed on time and within the budget.
And now, after some time in the shipyard, it’s full steam ahead!
