E-Ship 1
Innovation: E-Ship 1

Since early 2014, the Auerbach shipping company has been commissioned with the nautical and technical management of the fascinating rotor sail ship developed by ENERCON. At first glance, it is hard to believe that these rotors help propel for the E-Ship 1 to “sail” across the world’s oceans. After having completed multiple voyages, one thing is clear: it is an unforgettable experience!

NEWBUILDING PROJECT

The new F-500 series

The newbuilding project

In close collaboration with the two shipowners Briese and Krey in Leer/Germany, we have been working in partnership since early 2012 on developing the next generation of project cargo ships that offer maximum efficiency. In addition to the optimisation of the ship’s hull lines, the entire propulsion and energy system including the main engine, propeller and rudder design have been overhauled. The goal: to reduce fuel consumption as much as possible.

We also place particular emphasis on flexibility and speed during port operations, that is, when loading and transporting cargo. The result: an optimised cargo hold design featuring tank tops, tween decks and hatch covers with maximum load bearing capacities as well as the decision to use modern computer-controlled cranes. At the same time, we rely on high-quality structural components with a clear focus on European manufacturers. The results from the towing/tank test speak for themselves. The first units from the F-500 series have been ordered and will be built at experienced Chinese shipyards in the months to come.
